Pooja Karthik

Originally from Chennai, India, I now call Rotterdam my home. I began learning Bharatanatyam at age six and later performed semi-classical and contemporary dance with the Dance Troupe of NIT Trichy. After moving to the Netherlands for my Master’s in Structural Engineering at TU Delft, I deepened my Bharatanatyam practice under my guru, Jolanda Boejharat.

Now based in Rotterdam, I am embarking on a journey as an independent artist, blending Bharatanatyam with the city’s contemporary cultural landscape, while also working full-time as a structural engineer.
